Privacy policy

Last updated: 12 October 2026

In short

zzzTab does not collect, send or share any data. It has no servers, accounts or analytics. Everything the extension stores stays in your browser.

What zzzTab stores

When you snooze a tab, zzzTab stores its address, its title, the time it should come back, a note if you wrote one, whether it repeats, and the name and colour of its group if it was in one. It also stores your settings (language, theme, times, quick options, sound, and so on).

This data is kept in your browser’s local storage (chrome.storage.local) and never leaves it. If you uninstall the extension, it is deleted.

What it does not do

It does not send data to any server. The extension declares a security policy (connect-src 'none') that prevents any network connection from its pages.

It does not use analytics, cookies, advertising or tracking tools. It does not read the content of the pages you visit.

Permissions

zzzTab asks only for the permissions it needs: tabs (read title and address, close and reopen), tab groups (put each tab back in its group), storage (keep your list), alarms (wake at the right time), notifications (let you know), site icons (show each tab’s icon without going online) and sound (play a soft alert). Also, only if you turn it on, access to sites so it can draw your note over the tab that wakes up: zzzTab does not read or change page content, and you can remove it at any time.

Import and export

When you import a file it is read inside your browser and never uploaded. When you export, the file is generated on your computer and you save it wherever you like.

Changes to this policy

If anything changes, we will update this page and the date above.
